College Sucks

· So here I am sitting in my room on my day off (Thank God!) and I really really really do not want to write my English paper. I rather be outside do anything else, running, playing tennis, or just frickin sitting outside. My paper is on Men and Women. Are they really from different planets and only get along in the sack? I think that there are differences between the two but mostly just physically. I think we just sterotype men and women and then we get confused. Like if you see a girl crying in public she must be a drama queen and STAY AWAY or if a dude is riding a motorcyle he must be a badass. Maybe it is just me but I get along with the same amount of girls as I do guys, and they are all different. I have got some drama boys and girls, the typical party animal friends, and then the laid back very chill peeps. There are certain things I only do with my guy friends and certain things I only do with my girlfriends. Anyway we have been talking about this subject in my English class and I just think it is interesting to hear what people have to say about it. So leave me some comments cause I need some extra credit!

Food for thought: Would you rather have four eyeballs or eleven toes on each foot?

Sounds like you got your paper well under way. I definately agree though; our image of gender is based on what society tells us believe about our gender roles. Women take the brute of this though, we are more socialized than me. Actually I was talking to my roomie today about this and she said if you put a young male through the same types media that female adolescents go through, that boy will turn into the same thing: self-loathing, wishing you could be something you aren't, instead of celebrating all that is you. Men take steroids and mess up baseball, and the like, because they strive to be better than they already were. I totally see your point though, good luck on that paper.

I totally agree. This is very similar to my blog as well :O) I think that men and women are different, but very similar in different ways. The media really hypes up how we are "supposed" to act, but in all reality. I have always been one of the guys, I am a total tom boy, but yes I love shopping, shoes and purses too! Men have their little quirks too, so I think that we are more alike than most would really like to admit.

yeah, I have a big problem with stereotyping people, like I try not to do it myself, but sometimes it just happens. And I hate that about myself. I wish this world would just grow and change and get over the stereotypes. we would all just be better off.

and i think i would rather have all the toes b.c at least i could hide that. having 4 eyeballs would just creep me out!

This paper sounds like it should be kinda fun, but stressing. Good luck.

I guess it would depend on where the extra eyeballs were.

Stereotyping is just part of being human. I mean you find it in EVERY culture. Sure there are different stereotypes in India than there are here but STILL... we're surrounded by it.

And this is A LITTLE off topic but has anybody out there seen Crash. Because although that is about racial stereotyping I think it's still interesting that even though people who try SO HARD not to stereotype are just as guilty as the rest of us...

I would rather have 4 eyes, I think. I agree with the blog, I think this is like the 4th time I have heard someone say that they are talking about men and women in classes, so am I.

I think that everyone has a moment where they may seem to fit into a certain group, and some people tend to catch them in a bad moment. I don't always go by the first impression.

Eleven toes....Could totally hide it with shoes.

There are many different kinds of men and women probably each person could be described in a way that is unique to themselves and by the way 4 eyes
